Project Online <> Planner Scenarios
Using Project Online <> Planner integrations you can establish Portfolio and Project Visibility in one place. Project Online offers a good set of features for project and portfolio management. Planner on the other hand is an easy tool to work with on a daily basis.
Integration Hub allows aggregating data from Project Online to Planner and vice-versa for more sophisticated resource planning and management, portfolio and projects overview.
Integration Hub can push Projects from Project Online to Planner, so that teams could work in Planner and update their task progress there. As the teams update their tasks in Planner they can push their reported progress back to Project Online.

This scenario allows synchronizing Office 365 Planner tasks to Project Online Projects. When the scenario is configured data from the specific Planner Plans will be transferred to specific Project Online projects automatically.

Project Online <> Planner (two way)
Project Online <> Planner (two-way) integration scenario may be helpful for Project and Portfolio managers who use both systems, Project Online and Planner in their daily work but would like to keep track of their projects/portfolios and teams work in one place.
As a project manager you can establish a project structure and create tasks in Project Online, assign them to your team members and then push created tasks to Planner automatically.
Your teams can work in Planner on a daily basis and completion status for their tasks will be pushed to Project Online automatically. You can work on your tasks both in Project Online and in Planner for continuous data synchronization between your systems and teams. Also, you can create additional tasks in Project Online and mix them with the tasks involved in integration.

Project Online <> Planner (two way integration with project stages)

Project Online <> Planner (two way multiple plans integration)
Project Online <> Planner (two-way multiple plans integration) scenario may be helpful for Project and Portfolio managers who need to synchronize a project in Project Online with multiple Planner Plans.
As a project manager you can establish a project structure and create tasks in Project Online, assign them to your team members and then push created tasks to different Planner Plans automatically. In this way, your teams can work in different Plans and report on their tasks and progress to one Project in Project Online.
As a result, project managers do not need to switch between these two systems to track their teams work on multiple Plans. They will have a good visibility of all tasks from both systems within one Project in Project Online.

Limitations:
Integration Hub has certain limitations related to the synchronization of particular Planner fields or features.
- Approvals (Approvals field does not exist in Planner, so the values for the Project Online Approvals field cannot be synchronized);
- Checklists (It is not possible to map them to Project Online, they are not supported by Project Online);
- Task notes;
- Attachments;
- It is not possible to create new projects in Project Online automatically from Planner plans.
Project Online <> Azure DevOps
Project Online <> Azure DevOps connection offers an integration scenario that allows transferring project data in both directions - from Project Online to Azure DevOps and vice versa. If your organization is among those who use a mix of both agile and waterfall methodologies, this scenario is a great match for your business. While most PMOs and Portfolio Managers prefer using Project Online for advanced resource planning and portfolio visibility, the teams continue using agile tools such as Azure DevOps.
Using this integration scenario, you can keep your development teams working in Azure DevOps and automatically provide updates on project progress and task status completion for your PMOs and Portfolio Managers by connecting Azure DevOps to Project Online. As a Project or Portfolio Manager you can create tasks in your Project Online Project and define the Azure DevOps work item type these tasks will be transferred to. Working in Azure DevOps Project Managers and their teams can create new work items or update the ones transferred from Project Online and the changes will be automatically pulled back to Project Online.
This scenario provides continuous integration between both systems. It provides a powerful way to exchange critical project details between project and development teams by giving them the flexibility to choose how and where they work.

Project Online <> Jira two way scenario

At the same time most development teams that are focused mostly on project execution prefer using agile tools, such as Jira, that provide great capabilities for release planning, sprint planning, sprint tracking, etc. This integration scenario enables your development teams to continue using Jira on a daily basis and allows teams to focus on project execution, while bringing all work into one centralized repository - Project Online for a good project and portfolio visibility.
Using this scenario, you can create tasks in Project Online, assign them to your team members (optionally) and automatically push the tasks to Jira as various Jira Issue Types. In your Jira project the teams can plan and execute their work accordingly. They can create new Jira Issues or update the ones already transferred from Project Online and then automatically report on their status completion and project progress to Project Online.
